I’m not a busy person. However, I would not some stupid person that I don’t know calling me at 2AM. I also do not want anonymous callers bothering me. So, here is what I do.
- Stupid callers go straight to voice mail
- Unknown Callers ring to a VOIP Service
- Known Callers rings to a cellular phone
Stupid Callers
These are callers that are either telemarketers, or people that don’t know how to use the telephone. If I answer the phone, and do not get a response, I can only assume that you don’t know how to use the telephone. If I answer, and you regularly ask for someone else, and I regularly tell you that person is not here, I assume that you are too stupid to comprehend English, and so forth.
Since you are going straight to voice mail, if I am not important enough for you to leave a message, you are not important enough for me to return your call.
Anonymous Callers
My phone carrier does not support Anonymous Call Rejection. However, my phone has a means to blacklist anonymous calls. All anonymous callers will be dropped and goes to voice mail. In addition, since all phone calls from anonymous callers are considered as unknown callers.
Unknown Callers
Any caller that is not in my contact list will be considered as an unknown caller. All unknown callers will ring me only when I am home. In addition, no unknown caller will ring my phone during hours that I will consider as unreasonable. Again, if one does not leave a message, I will not bother calling that person back.
Known Callers
If your name and telephone number is in my contacts, you would be considered as a known caller. Known callers will be able to reach me when my phone is on. However, I do ask known callers to be respectful and not call at a completely crazy hour. In addition, there will be times that my phone will be off. If so – this is to be expected to leave a message.
MMS/SMS
All MMS going to my Google Voice number will forward to my associated GMail account. As of right now, there is no sending of MMS yet. SMS is handled through a Google Voice app and two way communication is supported.
