Jacob
First question one might have is if you disapprove of T-Mobile, why be a 10 year customer? If I was as disgusted with the service, I would have left a long time ago, and I actually did so with the carrier I had before. In this case, it was AT&T wireless.

As for the bill, that would have been a billing issue which I would have addressed immediately. And all of the major four carriers uses Assurian which handles the insurance, and in that respect, you can't blame T-Mobile with the insurance issue. Assurian is the only major insurance company that would handle the cell phones beyond the standard warranty. And I would admit, I had problems with Assurian, and of course - I had to go through T-Mobile to address it, but in the case of the insurance, it is like blaming your car manufacturer for someone slamming into your car. And I know when I had to use my insurance with T-Mobile, they verified my address, and told me what my charge was up front, so that would sound like the representative didn't do his job.

As for having problems with an app store on an HD7, Windows Phone 7 is still in its infancy, and I would have given it a year. And if you contacted Microsoft, and they aren't giving a good enough answer, then there is probably a problem with the core OS.

And since you were been a very long standing customer, I would have requested to speak with customer loyalty. I have been a T-Mobile customer for a lot less time than you have, and I just pay my bill on time, and was able to get someone in that area. As for any technical support with the carrier, or any company, if you are not satisfied with the results of the call, I would have asked to be with the supervisor.

Now, have you read the post? Even with customer service aside, I had address other issues that AT&T acquiring T-Mobile would bring. I had sat down and looked at the other services, and no matter how I cut it, I would be paying more. Maybe that is personal experience, but I do not have any one else's experience.

I know that at least from my knowledge, your experience sounds pretty unique. There is no such thing as a perfect company, and no one is going to be completely happy at all of the time. In some cases, it is the company's fault, but if you have been with the same company that you claim has been treating you wrongly for 10 years, than you are approving of their service with your money. Even if you didn't want to break a contract, you could have gone through 5 of them already.

If you are still having problems, I would suggest that you talk with tech support, most likely via phone, and again if you are not satisfied, speak with a supervisor. If that doesn't work, then stop being their customer. You have that power, and there are other carriers (at least for now).

Yes, but most people also rely on a cellular phone. In the US, many people have a cell while using a home phone as a convenience. And while a $20 ATA does work, you would still need a phone. My suggestion offered for a phone + ATA in one. Also, most ATAs will support only one or two accounts. A good quality phone will be able to support more than one account which improves functionality. Therefore, if as with most people who have a cell phone, this post goes into detail of uniting everything together.
