The first two weeks of the month were extremely busy. On the first, I took my prescription down to Rite-Aid to be filled. It would seem as if they wanted to “give company policy” to make me make a special trip the next day to get my prescription. I was considering seeing if there were alternatives, but it will seem as if the anesthesiologist will start submitting my morphine to the pharmacy electronically. I will expect I will still need to provide ID.
Seen my pain psychologist on Wednesday, and went to a community center for the food bank on Friday. These too were in the first week of the month. In addition, on Tuesday of the first week, I went to the pharmacy (again), followed by getting cleats on my shoes, and an appointment for an eye exam and new glasses. It would seem as if my eyes were a bit worse. To make matters worse, not only did I need Transition Lenses (when the lens gets darker in sunlight), but the eye doctor wanted me to have a no glare lens as well. I expected to have a $500 bill, and the bill came to $493. This meant I needed to use a credit card. I got the new glasses on May 12.

This month could have been a better month, but I made due. A number of things have happened which is probably worth mentioning. Some of these changes will also have an impact on my goal of getting out of debt which will cause some setbacks. Also, someone out of the blue have contacted me which was not expected and finally got an appointment I needed for a few months, but will have to wait on the appointment.
First, for the contacts. My brother as usual will call about once a month, and offer some vague promise of visiting. This month, he called twice with the same vague promise which never happened. This is normal lately. He is also making some choices I would not agree with, but he is his own person, and he knows my opinion. I also received a call for a psychiatrist appointment which will hopefully address some of the severe anxiety issues I have. I won’t see the psychiatrist until the second week of May. I had been in need of a new one since January. Since I am not running around with a shot gun, I guess I am not a priority. A distant family member also got a hold of me by email asking if I had the contact information of my Aunt (Mother’s sister). This is not something I have, and have yet to hear back from her. I would assume as with most of my family, she won’t need of me any longer. Continue reading April 2017
Not much happened today being a Sunday. I did a little bit of work on a web site. I also walked the dogs, and got a hold of my brother. Otherwise, this day was pretty quiet. As for plans for tomorrow, it will be the same, and I will have to go grocery shopping. I will need to get a couple of things. Yes, this is a short and dull post, but most of my days are that way.
Not much happened today. I spent some time working on a web site, and walked the dogs. I also watched a few videos, but nothing special happened today. In addition, I made a couple of phone calls, one of them being to my brother. I also received the money from the person that owed me some. Of course, he will pay at the last minute because no one I know is reliable, and all of their problems is so great. The money will be deposited on Wednesday, unless I will have to go somewhere beforehand. This way, I can minimize the number of bus trips I will have to take.
As for plans for tomorrow, no plans. I will expect to be home, and will give the dogs a brushing. Otherwise, things will be much like every other Saturday.
Not much happened today. I tried to do some work that needed to be done a few days ago, but the multi-function center refuses to work (again). I gave up, and took the work down to FedEx Office. I will receive the money back, but it is still a pain in the behind. I will call Brother again about this failed machine when I have the patience and resources. I will likely have to allow them to hold a deposit while a replacement machine is in cross shipping.
Not much else is going on. Things are much the same, and the days are relatively quiet. I had a lot of Lindens which were converted to US dollars to pay for about half of my bill. This of course depleted much of my Lindens, but I haven’t been spending them much anyhow.

Not much happened today. I had an errand to go to where I picked up a SIM card for the benefit of my brother. He will have the same conditions that his girlfriend has. Once I got back, I set up the phone to work with his Google Voice service, and made sure everything was running (as good as the incompetent G2x can). I also installed a battery meter widget to display the battery strength in the notification pane, Drop Box, a Flashlight App, Lookout security, and of course Google Voice. I adjusted a few of the contacts in his Contacts List that I knew needing adjusting, but he will be responsible for managing his own contacts. Last, I set up the web browser to make his Contact directory as his start page.
After that, I took the dogs for a walk, and fed them. They didn’t seem to be in the mood to play, so they came in early after their outing to where they could play. I also watched a couple of shows on Hulu, but otherwise – the day has been quiet.

Not much happened today. I had to deal with technical support for the Brother Printer I use for the behalf of someone else, but needless to say it is the same problem I had a few months ago. It will seem as if I will have to go through hoops again with them, and it wouldn’t happen if they will just send me something that worked.
I also walked the dogs, and tried to get a hold of my brother which I was unsuccessful for the most part. Otherwise, I didn’t do much really. As for plans for tomorrow, I will likely have to go to Downtown to address the incompetency of Brother. I will try to fix this problem on my own by repeating the procedure I had to do 5 or 6 times before, but otherwise, not much else to do.
Today was a bit of a normal day. I had to make a phone call. In addition, my brother called me and asked me to send an email for him. I went to the post office which required I done another errand. After which, I taken care of a couple of bills.
I think the medicine I am currently taking is getting to me. I been feeling a bit ill, and I doubt it’s from anything else. It’s as if I was taking it for the first time which is not the case since I been on this for years now. Thankfully I see my doctor later this month. Continue reading June 7
Early in April, I came across a need to print labels. The reason is regular mailings on the behalf of someone else. In any case, I was brought with a dilemma. Do I go and buy more sheets of labels that may or may not print exactly as needed, and spend on ink to print these, or do I look for a better alternative. I already knew of label printers, but needed something on a budget. The Dymo series started are around $150, and goes up from there. I found an alternative being the brother QL-570. which was about $100. I also acquired a roll of labels which while more expensive per label, the cost savings would come with the thermal printer which requires no resources other than electricity.
The printer is fast for its size. I am able to print out about 20 labels with barcodes in about 1 minute. This makes my life easier as I never have to wait. And since the labels are never printed until needed, it is going to save on resources. And since the printer is thermal, it is not going to require an ink cartridge, nor a laser cartridge. Heat is applied to specially coated material, in this case the labels. The software package is also good allowing for a wide range of effects. The address book can import and export CSV files which makes storing a backup of the needed addresses easier. Continue reading Brother QL-570
