I have a crazy idea. And when I say crazy, I mean that it could never happen (due to a few issues), but will make sense if it could happen. Those that know me knows that I carry a philosophy that this world is so screwed up, that if something makes sense, it will never happen. So what is this crazy idea? Well, I have to deal with public transportation, and my home bus (the bus(es) to serve the neighborhood I live in) only runs hourly. This has caused a number of problems. For example, a day before today (2016-05-27), I had a doctor’s appointment. This appointment was at 10AM, but I got to the doctor’s office at 9:10AM because if I caught a later bus, I would have been late. And me being 30 minutes or more early for appointments is a regular occurrence because the only home bus runs hourly. In addition, I have a dog, and no driver’s license because of medical issues. I will like to be able to get my dog to places other than just the neighborhood I live in, and this is not possible (currently) with public transportation. One major instance will be a veterinarian checkup that should happen every year. To walk Malak there will be a 90 minute walk, and due to the time of the year that it is possible for me to take him means very hot concrete.
So what will my solution be? Well, it will be nearly $2,000, but this will be a bike with all of the items I will need and the components that will make such an idea feasible. I never ridden a bike before, and while that is usually a childhood staple, a normal childhood is something I never had. This will obviously mean I will have to learn to ride a bike, and then there are the ankles which I have almost no mobility which I am sure will have some balance issues. So, this will raise some issues, and cause for some adjustments. In addition, this will also need to be a solution to allow me to take my dog if he needs to go somewhere, and address issues like groceries, and possible doctor appointments. Today (2014-07-14) was a crazy day. First, I had to run a couple of errands. This led me to walk the dogs early in the morning. I then boarded a bus to go to Downtown at 8AM. Out of this, I went to find out shipping costs for an item so I will know when I get a similar item. I also got an email from an eBay seller to tell me that what I asked for wasn’t what I got. So, that was a thorn in the side. I also went to FedEx to make a few copies, and get a receipt scanned to .pdf. After the post office, and FedEx, I waited in line to get into Social Security to get verification of my income. I went home, walked the dogs again, and went back out after I dropped off everything I done. I went to the pharmacy to pick up something there, and made it back home.
Part of what needed to be done was fold some documents which then had to be stamped, and prepared to send. The income verification would have been among them, but the envelope from the company was defective which meant I had to call them, and get an address I can send mail too. That will have to be done when I get the chance. I will have that document and what needs to be done prepared beforehand. The receipt is for my Nexus 5 which I chose to spend $90 for a 2 year agreement as compared to what I would have to pay with T-Mobile. I sent an IM to the person that was supposed to have the phone about the defect. I also sent a message to help someone, wrote two blog postings on my Technology Blog, and a posting on this blog (other than this one), and concluded the day with dinner, and ending the evening.

This week was a bit of a busy week. Almost every day, I was out doing something. Exceptions to this was on Sunday. On Monday, the dogs got a long walk. This was a bit different from their normal one as they had a walk as far as Downtown. On Tuesday, I had a dental appointment for denture fittings. On Wednesday, I had an appointment with my primary care doctor which wanted me to see a specialist for an ear problem I have. On Thursday, I made the appointment which they wanted me to come in the next morning. In addition, the dogs got a longer walk – this time just to the Giant Eagle. In addition, Chris stopped by for a couple of hours. On Friday, I had the appointment with the ear doctor which some medicine was prescribed. After which, I had to run an errand. On Saturday, I had to wait for FedEx to deliver a package. This package was rawhide sticks for the dogs, a USB Charging hub, and cooking rings which is used for pancakes, and eggs. After that, I went to the Laundromat which I had to do my laundry.
On other events, I received a letter from Duquesne Electric accepting me into the CAP program which helps with reducing the electric bill. I also got cleats on my shoes which was needed especially considering that I do have to walk a lot with the dogs. I got my SSI benefits which went to my bills, and credit cards. Otherwise, this has been a productive, but hard weekend. There were a few days where I had to supplement my pain medicine with Ibuprofen.

This week was a little busy. I had to get dog food before my appointment. I had my appointment on Wednesday, but didn’t have enough for both dogs for when Monday came. Therefore, I left at 7:25AM to get the 7:30AM bus to get me to the grocery store. It is actually nice to get to the store this early. While I got dog food, I also picked up some food to hold over until mid next week. Wednesday, I went to the dentist which I just needed some fillings. In addition, I tried to get a different type of dentures approved which didn’t happen.
I also ordered what I thought to be a Bluetooth Keyboard. In addition to the keyboard, I ordered a 6” micro-USB cable, and a case that was supposed to function as a stand for my Sero 7. The keyboard was for the Nexus 7 so I could give it a bigger role. However, the keyboard failed to be a Bluetooth Keyboard. After contacting Amazon with this issue, I received an RMA. I did informed them that this was one of the results I received when I searched for Bluetooth Keyboard. However, I had to print out a UPS label which meant I needed to go to Downtown to print the label (since I have no printer), and since the keyboard will not fit in a drop box, I went to Manchester to drop off at the UPS customer service station. Taking a 13 there, I had to walk a bit – and to return, I was able to take the 18 which I then transferred to the LRT line at Allegheny Station. I had to wait, so I decided to get lunch. Considering I have only a little bit of food, this was just a pain on the wallet so to say.

Not much happened today, other than a busy morning. I left early in the morning to go to Downtown to make some photocopies which had to be addressed today. I left at 7:30AM, did the copies, and got on the 8:15AM bus which was my plan. I did all that needed to be done and finished about 10:30AM. The mail left in the mail box, and I gave the dogs a small walk. Otherwise, this day has been quiet. As for plans for tomorrow, no plans really. I will likely be home for the weekend.
Today was a slightly busy day. Chris asked me to bring his keys over, however he didn’t have the bus fare to return. In reality, I should have just gone tomorrow. However, on another note, he gave a couple of days of groceries that will need a couple of things to make them complete. Nonetheless, that will help a little. When I got home, I let the two out, and prepared their meals. As for plans for tomorrow, not much is planned, although I will try to get some groceries. It will depend on how cold it gets as it is not essential right now. Although, I will have to consider everything as I have a package due on Wednesday.
Not much happened today. The pipes are still frozen, but at least the bathroom is functioning. I also had to go to get a couple of gallons of iced tea. I also had to clean up my iTunes library. I also watched a couple of videos from Hulu. The dogs still didn’t get a walk today considering it was still too cold for them. I am hoping that they can get their walk (even a short one) for tomorrow. I will otherwise expect to stay home for tomorrow.
Not much happened today. I had to go to do a couple of errands, and was expecting to pick up money from Chris, but didn’t get that. Instead, I had a couple of errands including getting postage, pharmacy, and the bank. Once I deposited the money in the bank, I transferred most of it to my Google Wallet. I then returned home from everything, walked the dogs, and fed them. After the meal, I did some work on a PC where the person wanted me to do a couple of things which took about an hour. I returned the PC to the owner, and then spent a little time watching a few videos. As for plans for tomorrow, not much else is planned. I will have to do a couple of things that I couldn’t get done hopefully on Monday. Tomorrow being the weekend – there is nothing I will likely be doing.
Not much happened today. I had to run some errands which I decided to do that as early as possible – so I left at 7:20AM. I went to the 2 places that I needed to go to, and had a line at both of them. In turn, I had a 45 minute layover before my next bus (yes, I just missed the bus I had to take). In turn, I had something for breakfast before catching the 9:15AM bus.
Once I got home, I made a couple of phone calls, and addressed the reason in which I had to go to Downtown so early in the morning. Afterwards, the dogs got their walk, and fed. It would also seem as if the owner found a new tenant for the second floor apartment. This will be the fourth neighbor I had since I been here for two years.

Not much happened today. I had a couple of errands today which I left about 9:30AM, and got back home a bout 3:00PM. I didn’t get to take the dogs for a walk most due to the snow followed by rain.
No plans for tomorrow, and I will expect to be home all day with the exception of walking the dogs (if possible). Otherwise, I will wait until Monday for my next active day which I will have a doctor’s appointment, and will have to add funds to my Transit Card which is low.
