A bit has happened today. My brother spent the night, so he had to leave with me when I had to go. I needed to be in Downtown by 9:30AM. Once there, I filed all of the paperwork for the move, which I then eventually needed to relay with the potential land lord.

After I left Section-8, I went to the post office to get any mail I had waited for me. After the post office, I went to get bus schedules for Andie, and eventually needed to go to drop the schedules off as well as collect a little money that Chris owed. I spent a little bit of time there which Chris came back with me to spend a little time here. Continue reading

Today was an extremely busy day. I didn’t get as much as I wanted to accomplish, however I got enough done. However, I could not sleep well, and in the past two days – I had about 5 hours. That is really not enough. However, I pursued on with the doctor’s appointment and then to Downtown.

As for the doctor’s appointment, I had to take a urine test. I still find it as offensive, but it will seem to be some new policy. Nonetheless, I took the test, and made sure I could have since I didn’t use the bathroom at all since I got out of bed. I then seen the doctor, and he made sure all worked out. I asked where I could get a pill cutter, and instead he offered to provide more pills in the event that some break when I cut them. Continue reading

Jumping Through Hoops with Little Accomplished

The first day after the New Year Holidays, and it will seem as if I am jumping through hoops to get very little done. I was smart enough to not urinate this morning. Why would this be smart? Well, because of either insurance, or the pain clinic’s policy, there are random urine tests. Sounds more like a criminal rather than a patient, however I nonetheless did so, and within moments of being given a cup.

Next was to Downtown to get the information I will need for moving. Ha, not so easy. After spending about 30 minutes waiting on the correct housing specialist, I finally got the ability to have an appointment, and found out what my base standard is. So, this will of course mean that I would have to contact the potential land lord and let him know. This will be done later this evening since I wouldn’t want to interrupt during his working hours. Progress on the Hunt

Today, I went to the only apartment I found that would hopefully meet my needs. I spoke with the property owner, and he would have to install a ramp for the time I would end up dealing with a wheelchair. In comparison to what I have now, this is a downgrade, but considering that this unit will no longer accept Section-8 in the next lease year, and a 1BR is more than my month’s income + utilities, I definitely can not even think of this place.

So, what is my initial assessment of this apartment? Well, the owner seems pretty reasonable, and seems as if he is willing to work with me. I have informed him that I can not afford to pay more than what I am paying now. As for financial considerations, my hopes is to get the utilities included, and get the security deposit waived (unlikely), or reduced. However, there are other considerations too.

December 1

Today was much like any other day with the exception that I pretty much couldn’t get much accomplished. I had to wait on Section-8 which the inspector came about 11:30. There wasn’t much I could do afterwards. So, I will have to try to do a couple of things tomorrow in between my dental appointment, and then more on Friday.

Otherwise, I made something for lunch, and eventually dinner. I did eat more than I would have expected which is not something I normally do, but it does hasten grocery shopping that will need to be done.

October 22

Today was a bit of a tedious day, and didn’t get everything I needed done. While I was in Downtown, I did go to the post office, and after that, to the Section-8 office to get listings of apartments. Out of almost 35 choices, only three of them is worth looking more into them, and none of them in a great area, so in other words, I would rather find something better.

And of course, it is no guarantee that these units will even meet my needs. They are close to bus lines, but if I foresee a future where there might be a need for a wheelchair, then stairs is not going to be my friend. In addition, I will still have to know the Internet services available there.
