On 2019-12-06, I received the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e. This tablet is to perform as a primary tablet which can also go out with me. While my older tablet will still function in a limited role, the S5e will do more. The tablet has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 CPU with 4GB of memory, and 64GB of storage. There is 10.5″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1600. The tablet has a 7040mAh battery. The model I purchased has a SIM card, and support for Micro-SDXC cards. I have a 512GB card in along with a Google Fi data Nano-SIM. The tablet with the card cost $560.
The tablet works good. I don’t play a lot of games so I can’t attest to that level of performance, but it handles all of my basic tasks. It also works well with the data SIM allowing for 26MBPS when I tested the Data download. I also like how thing it is, and while I could use the cameras on the tablet, I don”t see me doing so.
The tablet has no 3.5mm audio jack which I was hoping it would play my music when I am out and about. Instead, I will have to wait until I can afford USN-C headphones. There were a couple of times, the tablet dropped Wifi connection, but with the caching of the Youtube video, it didn’t affect me.
All in all, I like the tablet, It works well enough for me, and serves my needs. With the 512GB card in the tablet to compliment the 64GB storage, the tablet shouldn’t run out of space anytime soon. It will take some time to test the cellular data capabilities as I don’t go out much, but if I need to – I will append this page.
