Week 22 – 2014

This week was a little busy. I got half of the money from Andrea for her phone bill. I also got money that someone else owed me. My brother is still having problems. In addition, I had to pay for an insurance deductible. In addition, the neighbor’s tree got struck by lightning and fell into the back yard. The tree got cut down on Friday. Friday was also spent in paying my bills, and I got my niece a domain name for her birthday. Obviously, I am also hosting it for her.

My source of income came in, and obviously the first thing I did was set everything in motion to pay my bills. My rent got mailed out, and my credit cards got their payment. I made sure I set aside some money in my bank to address my electric bill. I also walked the dogs to my brother’s place on Saturday, and while Nippers is usually behaved, she decided to start a fight with Malak a couple of times. No serious injuries, Nippers had a couple of scratches, but all is well. Each occurrence only lasted a few seconds until I was able to pull the instigator off, and correct her. The most serious event was a long skin deep scratch on my leg which is fine. After the episodes, everything was fine.

As for plans for next week, not much is planned. I am expecting the registration of 2 domains to come through, and I will have to send back the phone my brother broke which is a part of Assurance’s agreement. The landlord has to make a minor repair which I think is from the fallen tree, but otherwise – little else is planned.

Not much happened today. I received my benefits which was then used to pay my bills. My electric bill was higher than I would have liked, so I wasn’t able to put as much as I would have wanted on my credit card. Obviously my minimum balance is still paid (minimum×2+Interest+Monthly Recurring). Alexis got her new SIM card active so she is now able to use her new phone. In addition, the dogs got a walk today, and the pipes unfroze.

Not much else happened today. And no real plans for tomorrow. I will have to walk the dogs as expected, but otherwise – nothing much to go on. Sometime this weekend, I will like to do my laundry, but will wait until after I see my brother, or on Sunday, whichever is to come first.

A bit happened today. First, UPS delivered the blanket I ordered which made life a little more comfortable. In addition, I went to Andrea’s to deliver my niece her new phone. She was extremely happy with it. However, since she is not under my account, she has to work with who owns her account will have to authorize a SIM card change. This is because her old phone uses a Mini-SIM, and the new phone uses a Micro-SIM.

Chris went to my place, and on the way to my place, we seen the Route 4: Troy Hill leaving while the 88: Penn was turning on Liberty Avenue. Since we had another 30 minutes to wait for the next bus (during the rush hour), I took the time to add funds to my Connect Card, then we got a Subway at the Subway Restaurant. We left with about 5 minutes to wait for the next bus. My brother left late at night to walk down the hill to catch the 54.

A bit happened today. I started with part of the day sending someone an SMS to wish them well on their birthday. I also called T-Mobile to inquire about support for the 1900Mhz 3G band for Pittsburgh, and T-Mobile does offer 1900Mhz for 3G. In addition, the representative was kind enough to send me a free Micro-SIM card. If I was to get the card in the store, they would have charged me $10. Next, I went to the grocery store to get some food for myself, and for the dogs. After that, it was a trip to the pharmacy to get my prescription filled. After my prescription was filled, I purchased a couple of other things that was only available at the pharmacy.

Once I returned home, I fed the dogs, and placed an order for my niece Alexis which if everything works as the representative claims, it would be something that will benefit her. In addition, Alexis tends to appreciate the things I do for her when I can, so it will be just an issue of financial cost. Later on, I received a notice from HUD for an inspection which is not an issue neither. However, the vast majority of my day remaining was in a bit of pain.

Today was a busy day. I went to my brother’s girlfriend’s place where I collected some of the money she owed, and a little of what Chris owed for their bill. It would seem to now be more trouble than good, so if they keep it up, I will have to start canceling lines. While I went there, I brought a 20lb bag of dog food for Nippers, and an 8GB micro-SD card for Alexis.

I then left to go to Downtown which I had to do some copies. I will finish with the copy work tomorrow. Chris picked me up to bring me home which he spent a couple of hours here before leaving. I finished the day catching up on some podcasts – mostly related with Apple.

Not much happened today. Andie asked me to give my opinion on a couple of phones she wanted to get for Alexis and Gage. Of course, being her, she had to perform the whole means of communication via SMS. I tried to call to give her an alternative, but she of course wouldn’t answer. I am just glad I can handle my SMS via my PC.

I also got the check from Capital One. In their infinite wisdom (or stupidity), they decided to take the over payment I gave them, and send it by check (the most inconvenient way possible). The check was for $93.33, but at the time of writing this post, I used $94.79 of my credit. In other words, if they didn’t “process” this check I never asked for, I would have only used $1.46 of my credit line. I will deposit the check which means a trip to the bank, and when I pay my bills on Friday, I will give the amount I owe + $125 for my recurring bills.

A bit happened today. I had to go to Downtown which from there, I had to get cleats installed on my shoes, notify the Department of Public Assistance of the change in rent. I also had to get documentation noting that I no longer had a bank account with a bank I used to use, and provide that with Section-8.

After that, I went to Andrea, and Chris’ place where Alexis gave me a birthday gift which was nice of her. She also liked my new phone, and was attracted with the “sparkly” look on the backside, although I wouldn’t call the pattern sparkly.

Not much happened today. I already paid my bills since my benefits came in on Friday (since today is Saturday). Alexis, and Andrea came over for about 15 minutes. I guess they wanted to see the dogs.

I did a little more on Second Life, and dramatically reduced my Lindens. I am however, hoping to be able to generate funds later. I was hoping to have all of my land in one location, but this is obviously not going to happen.

Not much happened today. I was expecting to get the adapter for the phone. I also picked up a prescription that I needed. Chris stopped by for a couple of hours. A friend called, and Alexis (my niece) called asking for help on her computer. I was able to walk her through what she needed to do.

I didn’t send the PC, and this was mostly because I was waiting on the adapter. I might just consider buy a USB adapter, and use that for synching my micro-SD card with my PC. I may also just consider wifi synching as well.

Today, not much happened. Chris stopped down for about an hour, then I went to his place for Gage’s birthday. In addition, I brought him some paper for him since he likes to draw. I also brought Alexis a USB thumb drive, and Andie her mouse again. I also wrote a blog posting about why I dropped Netflix.

In the afternoon, a sales representative from Comcast tried to convince me to switch to their service citing they changed drastically from when I had them about a decade ago. I informed her of my problems, and I wouldn’t be comfortable in taking Comcast, especially considering I am satisfied with Verizon when comparing.
