First Terrible Amazon Experience

On the 6th of November 2014, I purchased a bag of dog food from Amazon. This is the major reason I have Prime Membership. I didn’t think anything of it. I went to the page, selected the food, purchased it with the in-house credit I had with them, and I was informed I will receive it on Tuesday which sounds about right. I then receive an adjustment on the date to Wednesday which is OK. I wasn’t in any rush. However, Wednesday comes and goes, and no dog food. I contacted Amazon, and was told to wait until Saturday. I ended up having to buy dog food locally which in its own was a challenge (will soon explain). Friday comes and goes, and I send another message on Saturday which I will not have a new shipment send by One Day Shipping, however that never happened. Sunday, and Monday rolls along and the dog food never ships. I contact them on Tuesday and I am told that the particular flavor of dog food is in back order, and my options was to wait (which they will give me a $5 credit) or cancel the order. Obviously, giving a damn about whether my dogs eat or not, I cancelled the order and made a new one with the flavor they normally get. As of right now, I should hopefully get it sometime before Friday (today is Tuesday).

So, what did I have to do while the dog food was never delivered to me, and was required to wait for more than a week after ordering? Well, I had to do some research to see which pet stores has the brand they eat. Then I had to call the store to find out if they had any 20lb bags. Keep in mind, my money is still tied up with Amazon while I was not getting my dog food with them. I then had to take 2 buses and walk about 20 minutes, including walking back with a 20lb bag of dog food. For those that don’t know me (hopefully Amazon Reading this), I should not be walking with a 20lb of dog food due to a physical impairment. Obviously, I should have taken 3 buses. However, that trip to the pet store, and back took 3 hours of my life I would never get back. In turn, I spent $1.50 per pound for that 20lb bag of dog food.

Week 9 – 2014

This is my first weekly update which replaces the daily update. This week could have been better. I received my T-Mobile bill, and noticed there was a discrepancy in my data for my Nexus 7. After talking with a half of dozen people (literally), and went through a range of email communications, I have the problem partially solved. It would seem that 30 days after I activated the tablet, my data is terminated even though I am supposed to get 200MB for the life of the tablet. A support ticket was sent to the engineer, but this could be as late as the first Monday of March for someone to address it. In the meantime, I am stuck having to get a 500MB data added to my bill, and the representative couldn’t even do that correctly. Email support fixed that, and promises to refund the charges for the 500MB while I fight to get my 200MB for that I am entitled too.

It got extremely cold this week again, but I managed to walk the dogs a few time. However, there were also a couple of days where it was dangerously cold for them to be going for a walk. Of course, they got to play indoors which is nice and warm. Talisa especially loves to sleep under the wool blanket at night. The dogs are doing well, although one of them misplaced the Kong toy again so I had to put the other one up until I take the time to look for it.

Not much happened today. I did a little bit of work on a couple of sites. I also walked the dogs before they ate.In addition, I went to the grocery store to get a couple of extra things that was needed, but didn’t get.

I also received a call from Gathr which they can solve their problem with my credit card, and getting me with service. This will mean I will not be getting service with them. It also seems as if Line 2 is still with some problems with my Nexus 4. Therefore, I will not be able to use them. This will mean I will have to get a secondary telephone number which I will have to keep until I can get a suitable replacement.

Today was a exasperating day. I tried to sign up for a service with failure on their end. I also walked the dogs, although not as much as I would have wanted to considering the pain I was in. The landlord had a couple of questions which I answered for him, but otherwise – the day has been quiet.

As for plans for tomorrow, I will have a dental appointment in Oakland. I will also have to pick up my prescription as well. Tomorrow will be relatively busy though.


Not much happened today. I didn’t receive my thumb drive that I was supposed to have received. I got a refund, but not a full refund. I was a little upset to say the least. I didn’t do much else, however today was a quiet day for the most part.

As for plans for tomorrow, If I should get my thumb drive today, I will have to juggle the UPS delivery with the errands I will have to do tomorrow. Most likely, I will be home as almost all of my money will have to go to bills and the credit card debt from the purchase of the PC.


Today was a terrible day. I made through. To keep matters simple, let’s just say that I am not satisfied with how I have been treated by Capital One the past couple of days. I have been having problems with my PC, so that is a problem I will have to deal with. It will seem as if I will have to rough it to say the least. Hopefully, I can address my issues sooner than my expected 5 months.

The weather cooled down which is a benefit, I walked the dogs in the morning, and in the evening. I wrote an email, and had a pointless discussion both on the phone, and through Twitter about my account. Yes, my account is in good standing, and no problem, but that means nothing.

Consequences with Loyalty to Capital One

A number of years ago, I have been approved for a Capital One card. I can’t recall the exact date, but I know it has been at least 5 years, but wouldn’t be surprised if it has been 10 years. So, why would I be so upset? Well, in recent times, I have been treated in a manner that is inappropriate in how I have dealt with Capital One. Unfortunately, this is not going to change things, but it will force me to literally make financial decision based on whether or not it is acceptable to Capital One.

Now Capital One wants to claim, they are doing so much for me. My interest rate is 13.9% which I am sure is pretty good in comparison to other people. Although, let’s face it, it ought to be. Nonetheless, this is of no consequence to me as I will explain later. There is also traveler’s insurance, roadside assistance and extended warranty of certain products. I will get to that later in this post.

Not much happened today. My brother’s boss was supposedly coming to ask me to build out a small web site for him. This however never happen, which I didn’t expect for him to come. Otherwise, the day was spent working on a web site. This web site will actually be completed soon which I will be happen when it is finished.

As for plans for tomorrow, I will expect that I will stay home. I will have to send a message to someone in reminding them of the vet appointment on Friday, but otherwise – the day will be rather quiet.


Today was a quiet, but a good day. Chris stopped by in the evening, and spent a couple of hours here. He had to go home of course which he has work tomorrow. However, on a more interesting note, Malak is doing a bit better with other dogs. There was actually a dog that was walking behind us for a couple of blocks. He just ignored him. He did reacted to a dog that was barking at him from behind the fence, but that just gave me an opportunity to correct the unwanted behavior.

On a not as good note, I come to find out that Capital One took the liberty of refunding a over payment that was more than half of what I overpaid. I should get a check in 10 business days. In other words – 2 weeks. On top of that, I will have to make a special trip to the bank to deposit the check, and wait another two days for it to be available with my bank, and another 3 days for it to return to my Capital One account – or in other words – 3 weeks. Since all of my recurring automatic bills are processed to my credit card, I over pay to take care of an estimate on what I will pay. In other words – I pay for my bills. In the meantime, I will have $93.33 that I will not have access to for three weeks. Considering my benefits is only $730 – this is a significant amount. Meanwhile, I still have $140 worth of bills that will go to my credit card this month. My brother believes they are trying to get more interests out of me since this year so far, they got less than $4, and the last two months, I didn’t have a payment due.

A bit happened today, and very little of that being good. I went to collect the money via a Money Gram. It ended up being that I had to get the receipt and go to two additional places which made my trip starting at 9AM and I didn’t get home until almost 1PM. Once I got home, I took my medicine and took the two for a walk. I was in too much pain to do any cooking though.

I also helped someone who wasn’t familiar with the buses whom needed advise on going from Robinson Township to Shadyside. Otherwise, I didn’t do much. As for plans for tomorrow, I will have to do what I was supposed to do today, but couldn’t. This will include going to Downtown to get a document printed, and eventually mailed out. Otherwise, little else is planned.
