October has been a month of dealing with the consequences of September. Talisa has yet to get her tests, and with 6 weeks of not having the resources to get those tests, I felt it was my responsibility to her to start the surrender process. A couple of people said they were going to help, and I am sure that at least half of them had the best of intentions, but as of the last day of the month, nothing. On the same day I had filled out the surrender documents, there was a call for the Rescue Organization to pick her up. The woman informed me that she will be going in on Monday to get all of the tests she will need, and get the care she will need. In November, the household has decreased by a third.
Verizon wanted to charge me $90 for internet only services. This is completely unaffordable, and with failure to get a price I can afford, I had to sought out Comcast which in the first week of services and even before installation, there was billing problems. Sounds just like the good ole’ days. And yes I feel Verizon is better, but I am sure that most people will feel a Tesla Model S is better than a Yugo, but if you can only afford a Yugo, it doesn’t matter that you prefer the Model S. After the installation, I should be paying about $45 per month which is half of what Verizon wanted to charge. To play Devil’s advocate, Verizon was willing to talk about negotiations when I called to terminate the account. However, at this point it is too late. Continue reading October 2015
Yesterday late morning, I returned the LG F6 from T-Mobile back to the store. The reason of why was in the 10 days I had the phone, it has proven to have a couple of good points, but mostly bad points. The LG F6 was $290 which I paid $50 down, and would have paid $10 for 24 months. I also had paid the taxes on the $290 as well.
When I looked at the phone, it had the LG UI on it, which I wasn’t fond of, but willing to tolerate it (otherwise, I wouldn’t have purchased it). However, in the time I had it, the phone locked up on me a number of times, disabled its own Wifi – therefore in one instance burned through the data within a couple of days as I expected it to be on the home’s wifi network. Programs that didn’t even started will close due to an illegal operation.

Today was a problematic day. First, late last night, my router failed, and after trying to get a hold of Verizon, they finally reached me and will be sending a new one. However, it took about 14 – 15 hours for this to be resolved to such a manner. In the mean time, I have use my T-Mobile phone (which does not make a good 3G router), and my Freedom POP router which hasn’t been working as good as I will like it to so I can complete the basics.
On some better news, the head collar for Malak came through. As with Talisa, he doesn’t like it, but he has been much easier to control with the presence with other dogs. I am hoping that the dramatic improvement will mean he will ignore dogs he doesn’t like rather than trying to go after them.

Not much happened today. I got a call that my pain medicine will come in tomorrow. That will mean that I will have to walk the dogs earlier for their afternoon walk. I also tried a service that completely failed with regards to my needs. For the most part, today has been rather quiet.
As for plans for tomorrow, I will stay home for the most part. I will walk the dogs, but otherwise – I have no plans. Chris might stop down, but otherwise – nothing else going on. I will also probably make an update to one of my personal pages and do some work on my website that is in development.
If you have Google Voice, you would know that there is integrated connection with your Google Talk service. Well, me being old fashion, I am not interested in sitting in front of the computer just to carry on a conversation – especially when I don’t have the headphones, and mic for it.
Now, I know that Google Talk supposedly supports Jabber, and after some looking around, I found the settings for Jabber. I thought this is great since my phone supports 1 Jabber account. I could set it up, and simply receive calls on the phone without having to deal with the computer!

Plan C failed, so I will have to work with what I have (or don’t have). As for what I did today, there were only a couple of things I did. I first when to the bank to try to work with them. However, I almost knew that to be a failure. Afterwards, I did grocery shopping, and eventually got a money order for the rent. I moved a bill over to a credit card which I preferred to not have done, but this was the case. I do have a few more bills that needs to be addressed, but will do these pretty much at the last moment.
As for plans for tomorrow, I will be dropping the rent off which is just an elevator trip, and staying home. No real plans though for the day.
