Today was quite a busy day. First, I had to go to to Section-8 where I had to deliver some documents. While I was there, I received an adjustment on what my rent will be. Nothing grandeur, nor life changing, but enough of a discount where I will be able to apply the “savings” to the electric bill. I also had to go on an errand to pay a bill, and would have wanted to pay another bill, but I have to wait for something else to come through first. While I was there, I also got a few groceries to hold for a week. By this time, my food benefits should come in.

Once I got home, I had to make a few phone calls. One of the calls were in regards to trying to get furniture I will need. I was then told to call another number which I will do tomorrow. I also notified the landlord of the adjustment in rent that took effect as of this month. This means I technically over-paid this month. However I will make those adjustments for next month’s rent rather than making him come to pay the difference.

Today was another warm, but a bit of a breezy day. After chatting with a friend, I went to the Downtown area to pick up my mail which included the needed documents. Now, I just have to wait for everything to hopefully be approved. Afterwards, I notified the potential landlord, and now have to wait until I can actually get keys so I can get everything moved in hopefully within a few days of the month’s end so I can actually have a place without having to pay for two rents which I can not do. After the drop off of the documents, I went to the grocery store and hopefully got enough groceries to last through the rest of the month. A trip back home finalized my day for the most part.

Chris also stopped by for a few hours, and he left about 5PM. Afterwards, I got some podcasts downloaded which I then watched, as well as a TV show from Hulu. The evening finished with me writing this post and preparing for bed. As for plans for tomorrow, there will be no real plans, and most likely will stay home with the exception of a small errand that will have to be accomplished on the main street.

Today had its good moments and its bad moments. I haven’t been feeling well so that is not good. I got back home from my brother’s at about 8:30AM. The proposed landlord finally got by and filled the document mostly correct, but now he decided to not provide supporting documents. I informed him, and he noted it is coming to him in the mail. While I personally feel that this is strange, I am going to give him a benefit of a doubt, and wait 1 week.

On my way back home, I got a loaf of bread, and a sandwich so I wouldn’t have to make anything when I got home. On some other news, I managed to get my ISP bill brought down (at least for a year) on the grounds that they have terrible latency, and that the price is not worth it. Otherwise, I just stayed home for the afternoon, and tried to rest as best as I can. As for plans for tomorrow, I will have to make a phone call, but otherwise, I will be home trying to rest.

Today was a very hectic day. First, I had to go to the Section-8 office. It will seem as if the landlord I was expecting to rent from didn’t do what he was supposed too, or decided to screw me over which needless to say was not a benefit to me. I went to the Section-8 office, shown the lease, and it would seem as if there was very little they could do except offer a means of getting new moving papers. The case worker from Section-8 also informed me that if the current landlord/reality company if they can send a fax so they would be able to cover the rent for their portion next month.

I also went to the post office to pick up any mail I had, went to the library to pick up a couple of things, and made a call to cancel the electricity order with Duquesne Electric. I called the manager of the current apartment, but couldn’t reach her. As I returned home, I prepared for the worst. I however hoped for the best. I managed to reach my manager about 1PM which she was more than willing to help out. She sent the fax, and sent me a copy through the maintenance person.

Today was a busy day. I met with the proposed landlord, and he gave me the documentation that was needed, but wasn’t filled out properly. In addition, he gave the lease which is different from the documentation which means I can’t sign that one. If it is not one thing, it is another. In any case, Section-8 did call him, and will send me some documents in a few days. Afterwards, I had  to go to the post office to check my mail, and make sure everything is OK with the bank. I also finished the transfer of my music to the new PC, and rated everything properly – although many of the songs do not have the album art it should have, and that for me is more of an annoyance.

In addition, I created restore discs for the new PC, and added a couple of more programs to the computer. Otherwise, things have been much the same. As for plans for tomorrow, I will have to run a couple of errands. I will also have to make some phone calls, and will have to return a call that I received late at night. Tomorrow will be a bit of a busy day though.

A bit has happened today. My brother spent the night, so he had to leave with me when I had to go. I needed to be in Downtown by 9:30AM. Once there, I filed all of the paperwork for the move, which I then eventually needed to relay with the potential land lord.

After I left Section-8, I went to the post office to get any mail I had waited for me. After the post office, I went to get bus schedules for Andie, and eventually needed to go to drop the schedules off as well as collect a little money that Chris owed. I spent a little bit of time there which Chris came back with me to spend a little time here. Continue reading 2011-01-10

Today was an extremely busy day. I didn’t get as much as I wanted to accomplish, however I got enough done. However, I could not sleep well, and in the past two days – I had about 5 hours. That is really not enough. However, I pursued on with the doctor’s appointment and then to Downtown.

As for the doctor’s appointment, I had to take a urine test. I still find it as offensive, but it will seem to be some new policy. Nonetheless, I took the test, and made sure I could have since I didn’t use the bathroom at all since I got out of bed. I then seen the doctor, and he made sure all worked out. I asked where I could get a pill cutter, and instead he offered to provide more pills in the event that some break when I cut them. Continue reading 2011-01-03

Jumping Through Hoops with Little Accomplished

The first day after the New Year Holidays, and it will seem as if I am jumping through hoops to get very little done. I was smart enough to not urinate this morning. Why would this be smart? Well, because of either insurance, or the pain clinic’s policy, there are random urine tests. Sounds more like a criminal rather than a patient, however I nonetheless did so, and within moments of being given a cup.

Next was to Downtown to get the information I will need for moving. Ha, not so easy. After spending about 30 minutes waiting on the correct housing specialist, I finally got the ability to have an appointment, and found out what my base standard is. So, this will of course mean that I would have to contact the potential land lord and let him know. This will be done later this evening since I wouldn’t want to interrupt during his working hours. Progress on the Hunt

Today, I went to the only apartment I found that would hopefully meet my needs. I spoke with the property owner, and he would have to install a ramp for the time I would end up dealing with a wheelchair. In comparison to what I have now, this is a downgrade, but considering that this unit will no longer accept Section-8 in the next lease year, and a 1BR is more than my month’s income + utilities, I definitely can not even think of this place.

So, what is my initial assessment of this apartment? Well, the owner seems pretty reasonable, and seems as if he is willing to work with me. I have informed him that I can not afford to pay more than what I am paying now. As for financial considerations, my hopes is to get the utilities included, and get the security deposit waived (unlikely), or reduced. However, there are other considerations too.

December 1

Today was much like any other day with the exception that I pretty much couldn’t get much accomplished. I had to wait on Section-8 which the inspector came about 11:30. There wasn’t much I could do afterwards. So, I will have to try to do a couple of things tomorrow in between my dental appointment, and then more on Friday.

Otherwise, I made something for lunch, and eventually dinner. I did eat more than I would have expected which is not something I normally do, but it does hasten grocery shopping that will need to be done.
